What is the difference between Smart Sorting and Simple Sorting?
When you click the 'Rearrange' button on the seating plan, you have two options for automatically arranging students: Simple Sorting and Smart Sorting.
Your decision depends on the complexity of the sort you want to apply:
- Simple Sorting is much faster and will give almost perfect results, but can only handle one rule.
- Smart Sorting can consider multiple factors at once, including pre-made groups, and student/teacher preferences. However, it will take longer to produce a result and the results will be less perfect.
Simple Sorting | Smart Sorting | |
|---|---|---|
How many criteria can I sort by? | Just one | Many at once |
How perfect will the results be? | Almost perfect | Depends on the number of students and how many criteria are applied |
Can student/teacher preferences be considered? | No | Yes |
Can pre-made groups be considered? | No | Yes |
How quick is it? | Instant | A few seconds, or longer for very large classes |
