How do I upload additional data for my Mega Seating Plan Platinum school, such as assessments?

This article is relevant only to administrators in Mega Seating Plan Platinum schools

There are two types of additional data you can upload: 'assessments' and 'bulk'.

Assessments: Data points that may be different for each subject a student studies. For example, current grade or target grade.

Bulk: Data points that are the same for all subjects a student studies. For example, reading age.

This article (and the embedded video) shows how to upload assessments data, but the process is very similar for both.

Prepare a CSV file with the required data. For assessments uploads, this will need to include a unique ID for each student and class, as well as the data points you want to import. For bulk data uploads, the class ID is not needed.

You can use the 'Example student' to help you identify the correct IDs for students and classes.

Enter headings for the columns you wish to import and click 'Save'.

Click the 'Add Data' button. A wizard will open to guide you through the process.

Drop your CSV file into the wizard. When prompted, confirm whether the first row of your data contains headings.

For each column of data in your file, match it up with the expected fields using the dropdown lists. If your file contained excess columns that aren't needed for the import, click 'Ignore this column'.

On the final page of the wizard, check that the data looks correct, then click 'Submit'.

The data has been loaded into your browser, but not yet uploaded to Mega Seating Plan. Click the 'Upload data' button to begin the upload.

The upload runs in the background, so you can leave the page if you wish.

If your school has the technical capability, you may also carry out this data upload via the Mega Seating Plan API. This would allow you to automate the uploads, so that your seating plans always have the most up-to-date data on them.
