How do I use Magic Reports?

Magic Reports is available to all users on a paid subscription. Free users can try it out for up to ten reports before they will need to upgrade.

Magic Reports writes your student reports, references and recommendation letters for you. You feed it a few bits of information about the student and it will harness the power of AI to write your report.

  1. On the main dashboard, click the 'Magic Report Projects' tile.

  1. Magic Reports are stored in 'report projects'. These projects group together the reports for multiple classes with shared settings. You would typically create a new project at each point in the school year where you need to write reports. Click 'Create a new Magic Report project'.

  1. Enter a name for the project (something descriptive like 'Term 2 progress reports 2025').

  1. Populate the remaining fields with the settings you want to apply to reports within this project. You can customise many aspects, including the style of the report, its focus, its length and even the language. You can also set good/bad thresholds for attendance and punctuality.

  1. Click 'Create report project'.

  1. From the panel on the right, add the classes you want to include in the report project.

  1. To start generating reports, click on any of the classes you have added.

How do I generate reports?

  1. Select a student from the dropdown list.
  2. Select the criteria you wish to use for your report.
  3. In the 'Any extra information?' box, provide any unique details about this student that you'd like the report to include. Including a few details here will dramatically improve the quality of the generated report.
  4. Hit 'Generate report' and wait a few seconds.
  5. Ta-daaa!

How do I export reports?

There are three ways to export reports from Magic Reports into your school's report management software:

  1. Simple copy and paste. Underneath the output for each report is a 'Copy to clipboard' button.

  1. Export class reports as .csv/.txt. On the report generation page you can choose to export all the reports for that class as a CSV or text file.

  1. Export reports for all classes in the project. Return to the project page to download all reports for all classes in the project as a CSV or text file.
